A man once told a room full of people I was from Mars

Hi Reader ~

Almost thirty years ago, I learned about something called Remote Viewing — the practiced skill of seeing what your eyes can't.

I didn't just read about it. I experienced it myself, once or twice, in ways I have never forgotten.

Along the way I met Joseph McMoneagle, one of the most documented remote viewers in history. He agreed with a room full of people that I was from Mars.

I never asked him what he meant by that. All these years later, I wish I had.

I'm telling you this because everything I write lives somewhere between the visible and the invisible — and this month's story comes straight from that past memory.

🌿 FREE BOOK OF THE MONTH

Every month, I make one of my books available free on my store — no strings attached, just my way of saying thank you for being here.

This month it's brand new: Second Sight — the fifth and final story in The Visible and The Invisible series, and you're getting it here before it's available anywhere else in the world.

Calla makes maps for a living. Real ones, of watersheds and ridgelines. But her truest maps are the ones she draws with her eyes closed, and when a seven-year-old girl goes missing on a cold October night in western Washington, with the temperature dropping and eleven abandoned properties to search, Calla's quiet, carefully hidden gift becomes the only map that matters.

It's a story about the kind of seeing the world doesn't quite believe in yet — and what it costs, and gives, to use it anyway.

[GET YOUR FREE COPY OF SECOND SIGHT HERE]

(Free through August 31st — and remember, this is the only place to get it right now.)

And one more thing while we're speaking of this series: next month, all five stories — Her Father's Gift, Luminous, The Calling, Not In Time, and Second Sight — are coming together in one complete volume; watch for it here!

Thank you, as always, for reading and for being part of this little community. It means more than you know.

Until next time — be well and magnify good. ✨

With love,

P.S. When you finish Second Sight, hit reply and tell me what you saw. I read every reply — and this story, more than most, tends to bring out people's own stories.

P.P.S. If someone forwarded this to you and you'd like to get my newsletter, you can subscribe here.

Don't forget to get this month's fr*e book! Read Second Sight. The Story You Tell About Them Read Online I remember telling my mother, when I was about ten, that she was making things worse by believing a story about herself that wasn’t true. She did not turn to me and say how wise I was and thank me. No—she did what most of us do when our stories are challenged. She got mad. I’ll admit I’m still learning how to say the right thing at the right time. But what I said to her that day remains...

Quote for Age Is A Number Not A Fact

Read Online Recently, in an aerobics class, dancing with forty other people—mostly women—I flashed back to the 1980s and dancing with my friend in nightclubs. I lived in San Diego then, and we’d meet early, dance for a few hours, and leave right as the drinkers arrived. Now I’m twice as old as I was then. And standing there in that class, I thought: my forty-year-old self would be proud of me. Still dancing. Maybe not for as long. Maybe not in nightclubs. But still moving. The thought made me...

Read or Listen Online Not the running commentary on what you should fix, or the worn story of who you’ve always been. I mean actually seeing yourself and the gift you carry that’s so much a part of you that you’ve stopped noticing it’s there. We move through most of our days seeing what we expect, what we fear, what we’ve already decided is true. And the hardest thing of all to see clearly is the person in the mirror. But clear sight is exactly what these times are asking of us—to heal the...
